Overseas Property

“Landlords look abroad for richer returns” was the headline in the Sunday Times Money section on May 7th 2006.

SIPS recognises the opportunities to invest in overseas property and has linked with a number of respected developers and agents to support such investment.

In particular SIPS is delighted to announce its link up with Ocean View Properties, which has a sharp focus on the overseas property investment opportunities with the ability to offer guaranteed rental returns, subject to conditions. This is supported by its sister company OVP Travel.

As with any investment, an individual must understand their own investment criteria and attitude to risk. SIPS will endeavour to match those criteria when introducing clients to overseas investment property opportunities.

In addition, SIPS has linked with The International Property Law Centre, part of the Max Gold Partnership Solicitors, to ensure clients have reliable legal services available to them in respect of their overseas purchase.

Purchasing property at any time can be thwart with frustration and worry - even more so purchasing abroad where the procedures and customs are different. There can be language barriers and difficulties caused through interpretation. SIPS works closely with its business partners to help overcome these difficulties and ensure the client is re-assured at each stage of the buying process.

The Future

Although the Chancellor of the Exchequer performed a dramatic U-turn at the eleventh hour making residential property a prohibited asset class for SIPPS there are new opportunities emerging. These will allow a syndicated approach which will have to comply with stringent rules. SIPS will be keeping a close watch on developments through our professional contacts and future newsletters will endeavour to communicate these developments along with any schemes that may be introduced through our business partners.
